While we don't know what the outcome will be, we do know one thing: It's going to be wet and windy in Chicago tonight.
So far this year, we've heard nothing but compliments regarding the playing surface at Soldier Field, but tonight, it's going to be ugly. The Chicago Bears and Houston Texans will face off in what is expected to be 100% rain and 25-30 mile per hour winds, and will do so in what could turn into a mud pit on the football field.
Luckily for fans in attendance, the weather won't be all bad; temperatures will be holding steady in the lower 60's at kickoff.
A few quick notes while we wait:
- The Vikings improved to 6-4 today after defeating the Lions. Cliff Avril suffered a concussion in the loss. The Packers are currently 6-3 and on a bye.
- The last undefeated team in the league fell today, as the Saints beat the Falcons in New Orleans. The Saints move to 4-5, and the Falcons to 8-1.
- The Giants, whom some people considered better than the Falcons or the Bears, got absolutely demoralized by the lowly Bengals. That's New Yorks second consecutive loss, and they fall to 6-4.
- The 49ers, whom some people considered as good as the Falcons and Bears, lost their starting QB Alex Smith in the first half of their contest against the Rams. The Niners play the Bears next week.
