Jeremy Brevard-US PRESSWIRE
Bears' rookie WR's knee injury was more serious than initially thought.
Brad Biggs just reported that rookie WR Alshon Jeffrey, who has only just returned from four games off after suffering a fractured hand catching a TD against the Jaguars, will have arthroscopic knee surgery on Wednesday morning.
Biggs adds that "It’s unknown how long Jeffery will be sidelined. With six regular-season games remaining, it is possible he could return before the year is over."
We've seen how much the offense struggled without him in the lineup, and we saw how much it struggled with him back in. Can Tice and/or Bates adjust sufficiently? Will we use the guy who held out to get paid? Will anyone else step up to assist Brandon Marshall? Is the season doomed? What are your thoughts?
Update:
Moon Mullin: "How much time Jeffery will miss is unclear but the injury is not believed to be season-ending. Players including center Roberto Garza have returned from knee scopes in as little as two weeks but the nature of physical demands at Jeffery’s position point to a time frame of possibly three to four weeks."
