Chilo Rachal has left the Bears for "personal reasons" and he was placed on the reserve/left team list. James Brown was promoted from the practice squad.

On Wednesday, Chilo Rachal left the Bears citing personal reasons and the team moved quickly to replace him by calling up preseason fan-favorite James Brown.

Jeff Dickerson from ESPNChicago.com writes:

Chicago Bears starting left guard Chilo Rachal has left the team for personal reasons and has been placed on the reserve/left squad list.

....

The Bears elevated rookie guard/tackle James Brown for the practice squad to fill Rachal's roster spot. Brown was a rookie free agent out of Troy who played well at times in the preseason but failed to make the initial 53-man roster.

Mike Tice called out most of the offensive line (including Rachal) earlier in the day in his press conference, but no word on if that had anything to do with it.

With the line a mess no matter what, perhaps James Brown could see time in games. After the preseason most reports seemed to think he needed some more time before he could be game-ready but we'll see.

UPDATE: It appears the speculation was true, Rachal was upset with his benching, from ESPN Chicago;

A source familiar with the situation told ESPN Chicago's Michael C. Wright that Rachal became upset after he was told he was being replaced in the starting lineup by Chris Spencer for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings.
