A day after leaving the team due to losing his starting position, Chilo Rachal is back at Halas Hall. For now.
One thing we know head coach Lovie Smith doesn't deal with is drama, and after hearing that offensive lineman Chilo Rachal walked out on the team yesterday due to being benched, my gut reaction was that he would never play another down for the Chicago Bears.
Rachal had five days to return to the team, or else be essentially released, and according to Vaughn McClure, the emotional offensive lineman is back -- at least for now.
Offensive guard Chilo Rachal returned to Halas Hall this morning, according to a source. His emotional state is ``very bad'' source said.
Still unclear if Rachal will be reinstated or not. He had five days to report back to the team after leaving yesterday.
We still don't know too many details, and if Lovie Smith can make it happen, we won't hear too much more about this. Rachal will either be reinstated and quitely sit on the bench the rest of the season, or he will be released with not much information being provided publicly by the team.
Rachal signed a one-year contract for 2012, and will be a free agent in 2013.
UPDATE: Rachal came back today and apologized for leaving yesterday, but was not practicing today, according to Lovie Smith. No decision has been made on whether he will be allowed to return to the team. - LINK -
