Matthew Emmons-US PRESSWIRE

In light of recent developments, the Bears sign a Guard to the practice team.

The Chicago Bears have signed offensive guard Chris Riley to the practice team, according to Sean Jensen. Riley was an undrafted free agent in 2011, and spent some time with the Cincinnati Bengals, but never found a permanent home.

The Bears are once again making some mid-season moves on their offensive line-- Subtracting Chilo Rachal, benching Gabe Carimi, and now signing Riley.

It was only a few months ago that former first-round draft pick Chris Williams was released.

Mike Tice was brought to Chicago initially to help shore-up our offensive line (and to help coordinate the running game while being paired with Mike Martz), and saw himself promoted to Offensive Coordinator once Martz's contract was not renewed. Getting back to a more traditional running game is fine, but the Bears are still being plagued by under-performing offensive linemen.

Riley is 6'5, 305 pounds, and hails from Illinois St... We will see if he gets a shot before this is all said and done.

Stay tuned for more OL developments...
