The Bears took down the Vikings at Soldier Field, but paid a hefty price for the victory.
The Bears took care of business against the Vikings at Soldier Field, winning 28-10, but the story isn't so much about the win as it is the players that left the field.
Charles Tillman, Devin Hester, Chris Spencer, Lance Louis, and Matt Forte all left the game, and we'll bring you up to speed on their prognosis for next week as that information becomes available.
Unlike prior games, the Bears started this one after only one slow drive, capitalizing on an Adrian Peterson fumble to get in the end zone with a Michael Bush touchdown, his first of two on the day. Matt Spaeth caught a touchdown, Robbie Gould tacked on a pair of field goals and Adam Podlesh took in a fake extra point attempt for two points. The Vikings started the game with a Blair Walsh field goal and didn't score again until the fourth quarter on a Kyle Rudolph touchdown; Rudolph later left with a concussion himself, along with Harrison Smith.
INJURY UPDATES: Devin Hester left with a concussion; Charles Tillman and Matt Forte each left with ankle injuries. Chris Spencer and Lance Louis left with knee sprains. Obviously, none were able to return to the game. The extent for each injury is not known at this time.
So now the Bears jump to 8-3 and, for now, first place in the division again. Some quick stats for you...
Jay Cutler: 23/31, 188 yards, TD, INT - 86.5 passer rating.
Matt Forte: 14 carries, 42 yards
Michael Bush: 21 carries, 60 yards, 2 TD
Brandon Marshall: 12 receptions, 92 yards; first 1000 yard receiver for the Bears since 2002, Marty Booker
Christian Ponder: 22/43, 159 yards, TD, INT - 58.2 passer rating
Adrian Peterson: 18 carries, 108 yards
Kyle Rudolph: 5 receptions, 55 yards, TD
Jared Allen: 4 tackles, 0 sacks
And just because, this happened.
