Many fans were calling for a suspension of Jared Allen after his vicious hit that ended lance Louis' season, but the league decided that wasn't called for.
It's not often that the Chicago Bears offensive line surprises anyone, but when it does, it's generally because someone is doing a job worthy of praise. We just aren't used to that, considering the last several seasons under Lovie Smith.
But the performance this season from Lance Louis was susprising, and for just that reason. Louis mades significant strides since 2011, and was by far the Bears most consistant lineman this season.
Needless to say, finding out that Jared Allen's jumpsplosion (I totally made that term up, so all credit goes to me, ESPN) sent Louis to the IR with a torn ACL was disappointing, but probably not surprising.
Many fans were calling for a suspension of Allen for the hit, and even more for a significant fine. The league decided today that a fine was absolutely called for, but not the suspension... Allen has been fined $21,000 for his hit, according to reports.
Allen was fined just last month $7,875 for an altercation with Buccaneers lineman Donald Penn.
From a fan's perspective, do you feel justice has been served?
