Matt Toeaina's season is over, and the Bears bring Cory Brandon up from the practice squad.

The Bears have ended the season of defensive tackle Matt Toeaina after placing him on injured reserve with his knee injury. In his place, the Bears have elevated offensive lineman Cory Brandon from the practice squad to the 53-man roster.

Matt Toeaina's contributions to the Bears this year have been kind of scarce, as he only registered two starts in three games this season, and could require arthroscopic knee surgery. Toeaina will undergo an MRI tomorrow to determine if he needs the surgery.

Brandon is a second-year player who got some decent playing time in the preseason before being let go from the practice squad in September and re-signed to it in October.

Looking back at a couple of my Notes pieces from the preseason, Brandon looked a step slow in the final game and got pushed back, particularly in the pass game, but is fairly mobile for a 327-pound tackle and can make some decent run-blocks.

What's your reaction to the promotion, and how soon until he's starting at right guard?
