Bears WR Earl Bennett suffers concussion vs. Seahawks

David Banks

Earl Bennett has been knocked out of Seahawks game with concussion.

Already down one wide receiver with Devin Hester out with a concussion, Earl Bennett was knocked out of the Bears game versus the Seahawks shortly after halftime. He is being evaluated for a concussion as well.

Bennett had a HUGE touchdown reception from Jay Cutler early in the game, then dropped what would likely have been his 2nd touchdown catch just before the end of the 2nd quarter.

Bennett has long been one of Cutler's favorite 3rd-down targets, but it looks like Brandon Marshall will probably get even more looks with Bennett sidelined.

While we haven't received official word as to whether Bennett will return, you have to assume that, with the word 'concussion' being used by the team, he won't be back today.

UPDATE: Bennett's status has been officially updated to OUT for the remainder of the game.

Our offense continues to be a patch-work operation, with the offensive line banged up as well.

We'll provide more updates on Bennett as they become avaialble. Stay tuned...
