In yesterday's game versus the Arizona Cardinals, the Chicago Bears lost two more starters-- safety Chris Conte in the 2nd quarter (shoulder) and running back Matt Forte in the 3rd quarter (ankle)-- and so far, not much is known about the extent of the injuries.
This afternoon, however, the team announced that wide receiver Dane Sanzenbacher has been waived, and Brad Biggs assumes that roster spot is being made available for a potential replacement for Forte or Conte for Week 17.
The Bears most likely will be looking to add depth in the secondary after starting free safety Chris Conte left Sunday's game with a pulled hamstring. They also could shop for help at running back or possibly promote Harvey Unga from the practice squad as Matt Forte is once again nursing a sprained right ankle.
At this point in the season, the team can't expect to find much more than a warm body to provide support, but with Earl Bennett and Alshon Jeffery back from their respective injuries, wide receiver is a position that they obviously feel comfortable with moving forward.
While many of us are taking the next couple days off, there is likely to be some movement from Halas Hall.
Stay tuned...
