Poll: New Chicago Bears GM Phil Emery

This poll asks one simple question; Did you like the Phil Emery hire? We're not asking if you think he'll do a good job, or if you think he'll be a Jerry Angelo clone. Just if you liked the hire? We know it's impossible to determine if he'll be a good GM before he's made any significant moves, but based off what we now know of the mans background, do you like the hire? Feel free to discuss his the hiring at length in the comment section...

He's a fresh start from JA, and seems to eye talent

that’s enough for me at the moment.

I just imagine him saying..

“You know that hobbit who had this job before me? I ate him for breakfast.”

so he gets my vote.

But to be fair, to a lot of Bears fans, anything the Bears do is a “meh” opinion

He was the best of the final two candidates

McCaskey and/or Phillips obviously want to implement a Patriots-style system. Emery has worked with people who were and are intimate with that system, while Licht was straight from it. Emery, however, also knows the Bears.

I don’t think they wanted a system overhaul, but rather someone who is already familiar with the inner workings at Halas Hall and would be able to adapt and move some pieces around rather than knocking the whole thing to the ground.

That said, I don’t think he was the best overall candidate.

In short, in life, as in a foot-ball game, the principle to follow is: Hit the line hard; don't foul and don't shirk, but hit the line hard!" Theodore Roosevelt

How in the blue hell is Lovie a bad coach, let alone the worst coach in the world. The man can only coach the talent he is given, we have some really good talent on defense, but on offense, all we have is Cutler and Forte

If they get this wrong after all the "thorough" interviews

Then that just means you have to begin firing a little higher up the totem pole next time. I’m optimistic right now, and it’s not just because he can’t do any worse than Angelo either…ok it’s because he can’t do any worse than Angelo.

IMO

Lets see how he does with this offseason with FA and the draft and next years draft. I say next years draft because and i agree with whoever said it, " that draft will be his way and not Angelo’s" if he gets a couple playmakers on either side i.e. WR

Too Soon To Tell

I want to see how he drafts first, how those drafts do in the next season and his free agent acquisitions.
