We know it's impossible to determine if he'll be a good GM before he's made any significant moves, but based off what we now know of the mans background, do you like the hire? He was the best of the final two candidates

McCaskey and/or Phillips obviously want to implement a Patriots-style system. Emery has worked with people who were and are intimate with that system, while Licht was straight from it. Emery, however, also knows the Bears.

I don’t think they wanted a system overhaul, but rather someone who is already familiar with the inner workings at Halas Hall and would be able to adapt and move some pieces around rather than knocking the whole thing to the ground.

That said, I don’t think he was the best overall candidate.
