2012 WCG Awards: Victory of the Year

I wonder if this has anything to with our Victory of the Year.

Our awards ceremony rolls on - last time, we awarded the Most Improved Player of the Year. But this time, we aren't rewarding specific players. No no no. Instead, this round, we're voting on the Victory of the Year - that one win that for whatever reason was the greatest.

Want to see what our writers had in mind? Hit the jump...

Star-divide

Lester's Pick: Week 10 - Bears 37, Lions 13 - The Bears needed to send a message to the Lions, and they did. Honorable mention: Week 1 vs Atlanta

TJ's Pick: Week 10 - Bears 37, Lions 13 - Taking down the Lions at home.

Sam's Pick: Week 10 - Bears 37, Lions 13 - Ultimate revenge after the embarassment on Monday night, and showed the Bears were legit and in the thick of it.

Stephen's Pick: Week 10 - Bears 37, Lions 13 - The Bears showed that they could compete with the new and improved Lions, with Peanut Tillman having a career day against Megatron and Devin Hester doing what he does. Bonus points for me seeing the game in person.

(Editor's Note: Is there a trend here, or is it just me?)

Kev's Pick: Week 10 - Bears 37, Lions 13 - This game was the fourth in what would become a five-game win streak, and cemented the Bears (at the time) as a legit playoff contender. It also was an embarassment for a divisional rival, which is always fun, and continued to help expose some of the cracks in the facade that was the Lions' winning ways.

Pete's Pick: Week 10 - Bears 37, Lions 13 - Yep. Talk about a blanket-statement, when he said "Agreed with Kev," um, yeah.

Dane's Pick: Week 1 - Bears 30, Falcons 12 - I considered it long overdue revenge from 2008.

Steven's Pick: Week 6 - Bears 39, Vikings 10 - Yeah, that's right, Dane and I breaking from the pack. But this was the victory that started the five-game winning streak. After losing to the Lions on Monday night, the Bears came back, took care of an opponent they should have, and started showing the foundation for a team that put up 30 points in four of the five games in the streak.

However, mine and Dane's votes couldn't sway the Contingent, which voted Week 10 as the Victory of the Year. Your thoughts?

nope

I agree with the victory against the Lions. Of course, beating the Vikings is always sweet, but lately they’ve been down. On the other hand, the Lions were turning from a team that everyone was happy to be back on track to a bunch of smug a-holes with severe attitude issues and unwarranted entitlement.

Plus, Peppers manhandling Megatron with just one arm.

Agree completely.

It was fun to watch the Lions and their attitude go home with a bloody nose.

yep

When the Lions came to town they were the meanest bully in the neighborhood. Filled with rage for breaking our glasses we punched the bully in the face repeatedly until our mom pulled us off of their barely breathing and bloodied body. We then drank Ovaltine and got a sweet BB gun.

Imfsilva described them perfectly

"Violence is not always the answer."
"Violence is the question, and the answers always YES!"
