What's the Price for Memorabilia?
With no games or practise or draft and free agency not quite there yet ok I am in the doldrums and with no breaking news just yet ( apart from players getting arrested )
Ever wandered what that photo, jersey, players equipment etc is worth. That gameday program/magazineyou treasure from your first game maybe?or newspaper article was worth.
Who do you go to for an appraisal.
I have some gameday programs from Bear games (3) and 1 a Tampa Bay home game against the pack (I was on holiday at the time and had never been to a game before). It was Tony Dungy,s first game as Head Coach. It was against the pack and at the old stadium. This was the opening game of the season and the buc,s were so bad, It was easy to get a ticket. The Green Bay team went on to win superbowl that year.
My treasured possesion is The bears superbowl program against The Patriots, I know!!!, I bought it from a secondhand shop In Illinois, it cost more than I payed for it, to ship it to me??? and looks brand new.
I have two player signed and authenticated pictures. 1 Gayle Sayers ( The Kansas Comet) and 1 William ( The Fridge ) Perry.
I would love to get me a Ditka signed, not as coach but player. I really admire THE MAN, His playing style was unique in my eyes.
Just wandering if there was any Halas signed?
Wouldn't mind a galloping ghost picture of good quality to frame. This guy, along with Halas helped build the professional game.
I have Richard Dent signed jersey, from the Wembly game . Just payed to have it framed, looks great.
I also have The Chicago Tribune , Walter Payton tribute pages framed and hung on my wall, everyone here in England asks where I acquired these. I was in Chicago a month after his demise, and purchased the paper in Tribune shop.
I cannot put a price to any of my small collection, as they are not for sale.I would like to think my two grandsons would become BEAR fans and treasure them like me.
Anything you guy,s want to add to your collection/memorabilia. Share the passion?

Nice to hear my friend, I have a extensive collection of Bears items.
I have been collecting sport cards for about 15 years now and I probably have just about every card you can think of including…
-10 Forte rookie card autographs and about 5 rookie jersey cards
-6 Johnny Knox autograph rookies
-4 Earl Bennett auto rookies and a few jersey cards
-Jay Cutler autograph card
-Tommie Harris rookie autograph card
-5 Greg Olsen autograph cards
-Lance Briggs autograph card
-Devin Hester rookie auto and pro bowl jersey cards
-Brian Urlacher jersey card
-Kellen Davis, Craig Steltz, Stephen Paea, Corey Wooton, Daniel Manning autograph rookie cards and so on.
Other stuff includes…
-Charles Tillman autograph photo
-Jim Harbaugh autograph photo
-Richard Dent auto photo
-Dan Hampton auto photo
- Matt Forte auto photo
-a bunch of old ticket stubs from the 90’s on up
-20-30 Walter Payton cards from throughout his career
-Cards from pretty much the entire 85 Super Bowl team
-Some vintage cards from the 40’s and 50’s
-a whole bunch of vintage t-shirts from the 80’s and 90’s
-too much stuff to note all.
If you are looking to find out how much they are worth or if they are authentic you can always go through beckett of GAI authentication companies, as well as many more. But in my opinion, you cant put a price on any of this stuff if you are a true Bears fan, I plan on keeping most of my stuff to pass on to my kids someday. Glad to hear you are a collector as well!
Wouldnt it be funny if we had another DE with the last name Salters!
Your collection isn't complete yet
You have to get yourself some WCG memorabilia to add to the mix. As for me, I’m still waiting to get my autographed Dane picture in the mail.

I was actually gonna do a "Man Cave" fanpost once the offseason news died out
about the stuff I have and how I have it set up. I’ve got a ton of pictures, but not so much in the signed stuff or trading cards yet.

I like to search ebay for game used items
But since I’m still in school, I don’t really have a lot of extra money for these sort of things.
I own a pair of Greg Olsen signed, game used gloves and a game used jersey of Patrick Kerney. (no Bear I know)
"Brian Urlacher, coasting down the right sideline. A Sunday stroll into the endzone."

Don't feel bad. I used to do that a lot more when I came on the scene here
I’ve still got somewhat of a rep to uphold.

Hey guys,
First off, great items everyone is listing. It is always nice to see true fans collecting for personal love, as opposed to the almight dollar.
In regards to Ditka autos, i would suggest buying an autographed football card of him. You can find an autographed football card of Da Coach.. as a player for $25 or less.
In regards to a Halas auto, the only certified auto in the card world would be a “cut autograph” they take a piece of check, or contract that Mr. Halas signed, and put it into a football card. Halas is several hundred dollars, if you can find one.
I personally, would refrain from getting estimated value on your personal collection. To you these items are priceless.. to a person owning a sports memorabillia business (like myself), the items have street value.. which in my opinion fails in comparison to what these items were obtained for.. i myself have been stashing away cards, and memorabillia for my kids.. I dont care what the street value is.. i am more concerned with the story behind it, and what it means to me personally..
If anyone wants a real appraisel, I would honor that.. I wasnt going to advertise everyones value without saying my piece above.
Lester Wiltfong and i are really good friends (and we have coached together), so i respect the site, and all the members. Please consider what i said above before you decide you want to know a “street value” on your priceless items.
Hope my 2 cents was worth it.

Very well said
While monetary values fluctuate greatly, the special pieces never change…not for sale.
Biggest thing I have learned over the years is collect what you love and can afford as a collector.

I too have a lot of Memorabilia
I have autographed framed Jerseys for Hampton, Sayers, McMahon, Singletary, Ditka, Butkus (along with cubs, hawks). Various autographed Pictures (including Da Coach flipping the bird), I have ticket stubs back to the 80’s (think I have ticket stub for each of Bulls championship series), I also worked at a bar back in 85 and have a bunch of autographs from the 85 team as I worked the “Mike Tomczak show” and met a bunch of the players. Don’t care about their value as I never plan on selling any of it.

Weak... Step aside this is how it's done.
Listen up MoFo’s if you haven’t heard/felt the power that Tony brings then you are missing out. Ditka himself has blessed this man with knowledge beyond our comprehension, so when he drops it on you it feels like the weight of a female packer fan. Yes that man the one who’s old school and new school at the same time. That man who is so surgical with his words one of his posts actually surgically repaired Jay Cutlers thumb.
We are all better for having been graced by his exsistence and a statue of his mother should be erected immediately outside of Solider Field cause it is proof that the immaculate conception happen twice.

Yeah but it was a Rocky V reference..... Eww! That movie was on par with Godfather III in terms of awfulness.
by frenchbears113 on Feb 22, 2012 9:53 AM CST up reply actions
True, but it's still a Rocky movie even it was awful.
Even Stallone said it was a steaming pile. I’m just glad they didn’t kill Rocky off as they originally planned.

I have jersey's shirts, mugs, and a Bears piggy-bank which I use to save up money for tickets...
But other than that, you guys have GREAT stuff.
"With all due respect, and I mean with ALL due respect...that idea ain't worth a velvet paintin' of a whale and a dolphin gettin' it on."
I have an autographed Payton football
and my precious, precious Bears garden gnome along with a whole bunch of other crap…
Above all; keep 'em guessing, never let them lose their sense of confusion.
My personal favorite Bears item
A copy of the “Super Bowl Shuffle” 45 signed by Ditka, Gault, McKinnon, and Cal Thomas.

I only have a McFarlane Butkus statue
NFL stuff is incredibly rare around here, and shipping/customs charges pretty much lock me out of buying anything from the US (I did try to buy a Bears track jacket a few time ago – after shipping it would cost a lot of money).
I do have a Peppers statue ordered up.
