Video of the Day: CB Prospect Dre Kirkpatrick
Cornerback might not be at the immediate top of most people's draft boards, but here's cornerback Dre Kirkpatrick, who could be in range to fall to the Bears at 19.

aaah Didn't know that
in that case he just reminds me of Tillman plus who better to learn from than another big corner

Tim Jennings tries to play this way;
Dre Kirkpatrick actually has the body to do so.
"Victorious warriors win first and then go to war, while defeated warriors go to war first and then seek to win."
Don't know....
I’m not seeing him wrap up like he’ll need to in the NFL for this style of play. If Kirkpatrick tried to go low like he did with that Penn St TE, there are multiple players in the NFL who will simply vault over you.
Legarret Blount of TB springs to mind.
Cacti are prickly.
I guess my 1st mock doesn't look so bad/unrealistic now, does it?
Lol anyway Dré Kirkpatrick would look great in the orange and navy. It would solve any issues we have at the CB position, from finding a great starter adjacent of Peanut to finding Peanut’s eventual heir.
Jay Cutler is our QB, and I for one am proud of that

Not a fan -
he gets high in coverage, effecting his change of direction, and his slender build is going to be an issue on the next level. Additionally, those forced fumbles looked like luck rather than skill to me: they weren’t strips, he didn’t put his helmet on the ball, and he certainly didn’t wrap up. The height is a nice plus, but I don’t feel he’s of the caliber of edge rushers such as Ingram, Upshaw and Curry. And I don’t feel he’s appreciably better than some of the corners potentially available in the second round.

Just a first thought
but he looks like he plays sloppy. The forced fumbles are always nice, and he is physical, but he was very physical past the 5 yard mark and that won’t fly in the NFL as often as in college. He didn’t seem to track with the receivers as well either.
"just as Gary Fencik will go down as the last person to catch a Joe Namath pass, Wootton will be remembered in NFL history as the last player to sack Brett Favre." - John "Moon" Mullin
I've heard from a few Bama fans that...
His skill set isn’t that of an NFL corner. They said he got by in college due to his superior size but his coverage skills lack. I didn’t watch much Alabama football this year so I dont know how much truth there is to that. However, I do recall hearing talk if switching him being an NFL FS before the season started.

It certainly looks that way to me.

He's more of a zone-type player in the NFL
So the talks about him becoming a FS doesn’t surprise me much; however, he’d definitely be a great if not ideal fit for the Tampa 2 in Chicago.

I remembered when rap was good
i hate nicki minaj….
"Violence is not always the answer."
"Violence is the question, and the answers always YES!"
Just one question
Why did Penn State throw so much to his side?
Even if he’s a good zone player, he’d be a liability in man coverage. The Bears only run the cover-2 about 30% of the time.
If he’s somewhat receptive to coaching, he may develop into a decent man to man defender. He has the physical skills to do so.

One more thing
Why can’t I go to full screen mode on these videos?
