I Love Matt Forte but the Bears Should Sign Michael Bush.

Everything that has been done so far looks good on paper. We got a solid receiver, we are returning a TE, we helped out special teams and we have shored up our backup quarterback and then some. I'm feeling optimistic. That's a rare feeling for this Bears fan. But barring a big name DE (who we probably won't get) the Bears need to sign Michael Bush. And here's why...

He's averaged right around 4 YPC every year since being drafted. He's 27 (one year older than Forte). His Td numbers are solid and grew significantly last season when he took over for McFadden and when he was a goal line runner in 2010. He can smell the end zone. He'd be the perfect compliment to Matt should he sign his tender. Plus he can catch. While not outstanding he has averaged over 10 yards per catch each of the last two seasons and caught 37 for 418 and a td last season. He would never be considered an upgrade over Forte but we could enter the season with him as a "respectable" starter if Forte holds out. We need to have someone we can enter this season with who we could count on if we needed to. Right now, Matt's not that guy. Let's not waste a draft pick. Let's get Bush. (No sexual innuendo intended)
