Emery says the Bears have the right locker room leaders and head coach to deal with Marshall

Emery says the Marshall trade got the support of the entire organization, including ownership, but the final decision was his.

UPDATE - Emery calls Kellen Davis a "dynamic athlete."

UPDATE - Emery says don't be surprised if Bears add a few players in the new few days and don't be surprised if they don't.

Emery believes Lovie Smith, coaching staff will also make a difference for Brandon Marshall. "He needs consistency."

Emery: "I think we have the right position coach in Darryl Drake." Also credits Mike Tice for work previously with Moss & Jeremy Bates.

Emery: "I think that is getting ahead of the process" when asked if can be fully confident Brandon Marshall will not be suspended.

Emery says Kellen Davis is "still on the upswing"

UPDATE - Emery stresses that team is stepping back and surveying landscape. After next few days, focus will be turned to draft.

UPDATE - Emery: "This is a very interesting period b/c there have been a lot of signings. There are players, UFA's we are still considering."

GM Phil Emery: "We really liked Brandon Marshall, the player. Second-most catches of any wideout in the last two years."

GM Phil Emery also said Brandon Marshall's size, route-running and ability to play multiple spots were also very attractive.

UPDATE - coach Lovie Smith: With every player, there’s some risk involved. But you weigh that... and I looked at what we had in place."
