Pro Football Talk looked at the Packers' needs heading into the draft. Defensive line is up there, as is offensive line, a bookend pass rusher, and a backup quarterback.
According to Jim Schwartz, and contrary to last week's reports, Jahvid Best is a full participant in all the team's workouts.
"We're not practicing, but the coaches and everybody else, we've (been) in draft meetings," Schwartz said. "Martin's been in draft meetings the last week. So everybody made a big deal about, 'Oh, he hadn't seen him.' Well, that's because players are working out and everybody else is getting ready for the draft. But (Best's) working."
Speaking of the Lions, someone really should check the water up north. Or maybe some fans got Mikel Leshoure's number. Ten, eleven wins, maybe. Fifteen? Either way, they won't be staying away from players with marijuana histories. Probably means more to distribute.
Either way, here's PFT's draft needs lists for the Lions and for the Vikings.
The Vikings are considering signing receiver Jerome Simpson, who recently plead guilty to a felony drug charge. Now all we need is to find out cheese can cause hallucinations and we've got a drug-dealing trifecta up north of the Illinois border.
And the stadium talks continue to be the biggest headline regarding the Vikings. See, when you have the number three pick in the draft, talks tend to steer away from the progress of the football team. The Vikings asked for a subsidy to help pay for the stadium, a fracas broke out over whether or not the team disclosed their financials, someone brought a keg and a disco ball and it all went downhill from there.
Aaron Rodgers spoke out about the bounty scandal and about losing to the Giants in the playoffs.
