Alshon Jeffery highlights the Bears' second day of the draft.
Day two is in the books, and the Bears saw an opportunity to jump in the second round to snag a wide receiver, South Carolina's Alshon Jeffery - a very talented receiver whose biggest concerns appear to be not concerning himself with football as seriously as he should as well as an inability to keep extra weight off. And in the third round, the Bears reinforced and added to their safety corp with Brandon Hardin, a defensive back out of Oregon State with a bit of an injury history - he didn't play at all last season, though he did play in the East West Shrine Game.
Coupled with the acquisition of Shea McClellin in the first round, Phil Emery has gone after two of the team's biggest needs with the first two picks and shored up another position of need with the third. We'll see what the rest of his plan is tomorrow, as the Bears have picks in the fourth, sixth and seventh round.
