Before the combine the one guy i wanted over everybody else was Alshon Jeffey. No you cant judge everything off of youtube highlights, but one thing is for sure he definitely has the best hightlights out of all the receivers. This kid is a snatcher, not a cather. And he does it with soft hands. I dont care how much seperation he can or cant get this is a slower version of Randy Moss. Put the ball in the air and he will come down with it.
So lets nip a couple things in the bud real quick. When the combine came around and i saw he didnt even attend. I started having doubts. And then the whole weight problem thing came out. Yeah Rueben Randle wouldve been safer, but why draft a boy to do a man's job. And Alshon Jeffrey is a Man on the field. It was very reassuring to hear Emery's breakdown of the questions surrounding Alshon during his press conference. Funny how the media can hype you up or bring you down. What everybody has referred to as a weight problem, Alshon has referred to as the normal. He played at 230 in 2010, and he played at 230 in 2011. Sounds like consistency to me. No he doesnt look to pretty in his jersey, but if thats his weight, then thats his weight. Is should show us he has a little more work ethic than we thought by attempting to lose a couple pounds for his pro day. Also during an interview he stated "this whole process has taught me how to eat better". At this moment i say we step away from that situation until it comes back up. Now if he gets caught smoking some weed with Jenoris and Adams. Or smackin a B**ch with B. Marshall than we might have a problem on our hands.

Quick Note: To be one of the tallest receivers in the draft his 3 cone was 3rd amongst receivers and 11th over those invited to the combine. The two receivers with better 3 cone numbers have not yet been drafted. Alshon's shuttle run is ranked 15th amongst the receivers who were invited to the combine and the only receiver with a better time taken so far is Davier Posey.

Quick note: When i say player % of receptions i am making an assumption that the player caught every throw to them, though we know that not to be true. I am trying to show the percentage that individual was targeted in the passing game.
