Mocking the Mocks: Who they think the Bears will take

Would you like the Bears to draft Stanford Cardinal offensive tackle Jonathan Martin if he was available at 19?

The Chicago Bears have been fairly active in free agency, and they've put themselves in a position to draft from a number of positions, or maybe even go with the best player available option. In the latest mock draft from Don Banks of Sports Illustrated, he has the Bears going with an o-lineman, which will make our newest writer happy.

In the last SI mock from Banks, he had the Bears going with a DE, but this time he has them going with Jonathan Martin from Stanford.

Here's what Banks had to say about the selection:

I don't think the Bears should get tricky here. J'Marcus Webb is not the answer at left tackle, and Martin has a solid first-round grade. It's a match made in heaven. Jay Cutler got his No. 1 receiver in Brandon Marshall, now he needs to get better protection. Martin and last year's first-round pick, offensive tackle Gabe Carimi, would be bookends for the future.

Martin is 6'5" 312, and played left tackle in a pro style offense at Stanford. Some scouts have given him the "can't miss" tag and some call him "elite". He's a good enough prospect that he could be starting from day one at one of the tackle spots. Like most young tackles, he may struggle against speed rushers, but he's a very technically sound player.

Stanford used a zone run blocking scheme, so transitioning to what the Bears do would be an adjustment. He'll have to add some strength to which ever team drafts him, but he has shown the work ethic in college to get it done.

So what do you think Bears fans... If the actual draft fell like this one, would you be happy with Martin at 19? Check out his mock and come back here to discuss.
