I'd say it's safe to say most Bears' fans are behind the addition of a young wide receiver in the first three rounds of the draft. This of course would include Alshon Jeffery, the team's second round pick with what several analysts believe is first round talent. Sports Illustrated is also behind the pick, so much so that they named Jeffery one of their twelve rookies most likely to make an immediate impact.
"The five wide receivers drafted ahead of him--Justin Blackmon (Jacksonville), Michael Floyd (Arizona), Kendall Wright (Tennessee), A.J. Jenkins (San Francisco), Stephen Hill (New York Jets)--all step into quarterback situations that may hamper them. With the Bears, Jeffery will catch passes from a surefire gunslinger in Jay Cutler.
Take a look at the rest of the list, either at the Sports Illustrated link above or at the Bears' web site here, and drop your thoughts. Is Jeffery going to be the rookie making the most impact on the Bears, or do you think Shea McClellin could have a bigger impact? What are your early predictions for Jeffery's rookie season?
