The preseason starts for the Bears on August 9 against the now-Peyton Manning and Caleb Hanie-led Denver Broncos, and will mark the first time the Bears' newly-renovated offense hits the field against an opponent... for about one drive. But I think it's safe to say with the team's new acquisitions and pieces, as in every other season, we look forward to those new players getting into action.
With that being said, let's take a quick jump forward - which game in 2012 can you not wait to see?
For me, I want to see the season opener, Sunday September 9th against the Indianapolis Colts, and not just because it kicks off the season. Andrew Luck, the number one overall pick, gets what will hopefully be a rough indoctrination to the NFL, taking on what should hopefully be a rejuvenated Bears pass rush. There's a couple matchups I want to see in this one:
- Luck versus one of the smartest players in the NFL in Brian Urlacher.
- Bears 2012 first-round pick Shea McClellin, occasionally matching up against Colts 2011 first-round pick Anthony Costanzo, one of the class's top offensive linemen. And of course that Julius Peppers guy, I heard he's good.
- Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery (in spot action) against an inexperienced, roughed-up Indianapolis secondary.
What's your game-of-choice that you're most looking forward to this year? Peruse the schedule and let us know what you think.
