Just Some Links & Thoughts on Brian Price

I found some good articles on Brian Price that I thought I'd share:

On his injury:

"the two pieces of the pelvis normally fuse into a single bone in adults, the halves of Price's pelvis were connected by a more breakable cartilage. The player's hamstrings — tight as piano wire — were progressively pulling apart his pelvis."

On the fight with Mark Barron:

"The short exchange went along the lines of Barron sitting in Price’s seat at a team meeting, and when Price asked Barron to move, Barron essentially told him that he wouldn’t get up. Then, Price’s fist met Barron’s face with enough force to make his face bleed."

On the Tampa Bay conditioning test:

"Price, a second-round pick in 2010, was only able to complete four of the required 16, 110-yard sprints with 45 seconds in between — a new measure administered by coach Greg Schiano."

On his unsportmanlike conduct penalty last year against the Panthers:

"(Brian) regrets the untimeliness and the foolish nature of the penalty, but if that pentalty was on first down, would the coach have thrown him out of the game?" Chuck Price said. "For a kid who’s probably never had an unsportsmanlike (penalty)? He’s a guy who has played through some enormous challenges."

On the personal tragedies in his life:

"No one has been struck by more bad luck and personal tragedy than this kid,'' Charles Price said. "But he'll be stronger for it, because that's the way he is. Like I said, he was trying to go on Monday and that was just a few days after all this happened."

This guy sounds like a trooper. I'm glad we got him.
