Chicago Bears No More: Team Announces Flurry of Roster Movement

Stay connected for news and updates

Former Chicago Bears QB Matt Blanchard

And just like that, the Bears now have a roster of 77.

A heavy amount of movement was just announced by the Teams official twitter, including a move we mentioned yesterday:

LM: Bears place rookie FS Brandon Hardin on IR, put WR Johnny Knox on PUP list and cut 9 others, including QB Matt Blanchard.

That means Knox is out at least the first six weeks, thought I'd still be surprised if he even plays in 2012. The rest, as reported by Brad Biggs, after the jump.

Update: The Bears have also waived DE Thaddeus Gibson.

Per the feed of Brad Biggs (@BradBiggs), here are the other pieces of the puzzle that are gone.

Terminated Contract:

DT John McCargo

Waived/Injured:

LB Adrien Cole
G Nick Peischel

Waived:

QB Matt Blanchard
WR Terriun Crump
WR Chris Summers
S Trevor Coston
DE Derek Walker
LB KC Asiodu

As mentioned above, that puts the team at 77. They have to get to 75 by tomorrow afternoon, so expect additional news in the morning regarding the roster. They then have to be at 53 by Friday night.

Are there any of these players you're going to particularly miss?
