Marc Trestman will have to act quickly to find a new D.C. with Rod Marinelli out.
Once Lovie Smith was fired, it was an almost certainty that all of "his guys" would follow him out the door. When Chicago Bears general manager announced that all the assistants would be retained, we figured it was just a matter of time.
There are now multiple reports that Rod Marinelli is indeeed out as defensive coordinator of the Chicago Bears.
Multiple sources reporting that Rod Marinelli will NOT be staying on as #Bears defensive coordinator.

Once it seemed that Lovie Smith would be sitting out the 2013 season, there was some hope that Marinelli would return to run the defense for new head coach Marc Trestman, but that hope seems to have faded.
It's interesting to note that reports are that he will join the Cowboys staff, but in Dallas he'll not be the defensive coordinator.
Marc Trestman has coached a team that ran the Cover 2, so keeping the scheme intact is likely.
