Offensive Line Free Agency: Gosder Cherilus may not be back with the Lions next year

Per Rotoworld

Detroit has 2011 first-round pick OT Riley Reiff waiting in the wings for a starting spot along the line, and veteran LT Jeff Backus is under contract for next season. The Lions are also well over the salary cap as it stands right now. Cherilus, 28, graded out as Pro Football Focus' No. 2 right tackle in the league in 2012, excelling as a pass blocker.

I haven't heard the same huge cap numbers associated with Gosder Cherilus as I have with Ryan Clady, Jake Long, or Branden Albert, which is surprising considering he graded out to the number 2 RT in the league.

Could it be possible for us to pair him with either a high pick OG, or Andy Levitre, and possibly a mid round center to make for a vastly improved offensive line and by proxy a vastly improved offense.

If nothing else, the introduction of yet another tackle onto the market should help to keep overall prices low and possibly send a few players further down the draft boards come April.
