(1) The number of players include the players on Injured Reserve. The 5 Special Teamers are: Gould, Podlesh, Mannelly, Hester and Weems.

(2) Aribitraily used the 4-3 defensive personnel package (statistically they have played the nickel more). Arbitraily used the 11 Personnel package (1 RB, 1TE, 3 WR), statistically the Bears have had a starting offense of the 12 personnnel most often (1 RB, 2 TE and 2 WR).

(3) Used what the Bears typical starters would be barring injuries. Example includes Melton, Briggs, Cutler, etc.

I’m sure someone will ask what’s the point. There is no point – just fun facts.

One fact that made an impression is that the starting defense is averaging a million dollars more per player than the offense. Cap casulaties next year could be Peppers, Tillman; $22 million total cost this year. Melton, if we keep him should not get the $10 million he wanted or even the $8 million he was franchised at. This year Melton is receiving top 5 money. Probably a one year prove it at maybe top 10 money, $6 million. I wouldn’t be shocked if the Bears offered him $4 million (top 20).

When looking at the individuals age, it is a lot of the key players who are at the top of the age bracket.
