Chicago Bears vs Green Bay Packers Final Score: Bears Lose Division on Last-Minute Touchdown

Jonathan Daniel

The Bears had a lead in the last minute of the game, but the Packers scored on a last minute touchdown to win the NFC North.

Thus ends the Bears' season.

The Bears had a rough first half and after a really interesting fumble play which Green Bay recovered for a touchdown, the Bears went into the half down 13-7. They fought back and regained momentum through the third quarter and most of the fourth quarter, and led by one point after the Packers chose to kick an extra point on their touchdown with eleven minutes to play.

The Packers took the ball back with six minutes to play and the entire field to drive, and the Bears looked like they had it in hand after forcing fourth and eight, but Rodgers avoided a sack and found Randall Cobb downfield for the game-winning touchdown with less than a minute to play.

We'll have a full recap and full discussion for you in the morning with Notes, Sam's Grades, and Lester's Inside the Numbers (and there is a LOT to cover from this one), but for now, it's a time of reflecting on the 8-8 season the Bears just completed.

Where do they go from here? What direction do the Bears draft? Is Mel Tucker on the hot seat? We'll have answers for those questions as the offseason begins. Unfortunately for the Bears, that offseason is beginning a week too soon.
