Notes From Combine 2013 Day 1

First of all I want to say this could be the best collection of offensive line talent to ever come out of college at the same time. I see now why Jake Matthews didn't want to come out right away. Between Lane Johnson and Terron Armstead running 4.7 40s and Brian Schwenke making a case to be the #1 center in the draft, all of these guys really showed that this is an elite draft for offensive linemen. If I were a team in the top 10 and I needed a left tackle, I would not feel bad about taking any of these guys. They are all that good.

Ok now on to other things..

Tyler Eifert impressed me alot. He looked strong on the bench and pretty much showed he is the top tight end throughout the day.The big three tight ends all looked good, except Gavin Escobar's 40 time..He needs to run faster at his pro day if he wants to be considered a 1st or 2nd round prospect. Vance McDonald could sneak his way into the 2nd round

Manti Te'o said everything he needed to say, good job.

I'm a little disappointed Menelik Watson didn't run faster than he did today. Really thought he'd run in the 4.9's

Did I mention how impressed I am with Brian Schwenke? The dude is so quick off the snap that the coach he was working with didn't even have time to get out of the way. He is the real deal .

Johnathon Cooper showed me exactly what I knew about him all ready. He's a workout warrior who can't seem to show me anything on the field. He's weak and will have to go to a strict ZBS team if he expects to go anywhere in the NFL.

On that note Warmack may not show much during workouts, but during the position drills he blew the competition away. He is by far the best player in this draft.

How about Tavon Austin announcing today that he's the best player in this draft? If he comes in and runs a 4.2 like he's supposed to, he's going to make himself some serious money.

Some guys who I am really impressed with so far

Lane Johnson - fast, strong, lean, athletic. This dude is good and I will be shocked if he isn't a top 12 pick.

Brian Schwenke - he's turning into my favorite player in the draft.

Tarron Armstead - this is the workout warrior of this year's draft. A 3rd round prospect who could rise up to the 1st round by the end of all this.

Vinston Painter - another athlete who has some great upside.

Tyler Eifert - everything I expected him to be. He's the best TE in the draft

Vance McDonald - Is he that 4th TE after the top 3?

So that's what I have. What do you guys have?
