Number two is not good enough

The above heading is the title of chapter fourteen in the official autobiography of George Stanley Halas. Now the question is......Is finishing second good enough, in the modern NFL? Would you be happy, if we were the Fourty Niners in last seasons Super Bowl.

I for one, would have been happy with The Bears lifting the Halas trophy, and becoming The Champions of The NFC. But I would really feel the bitterness of , having got there, and losing like last time, against The Colts in 2006.

In the same book there is another chapter heading, that I feel is getting like a reminder, not just for me, but for other elderly Bears fans. It is titled..........If You Live Long Enough, Everything You Want To Happen,Will Happen.

Now I do not want to be morbid, but, how many times have we all heard, or said, " I wish my father, brother, uncle, grand father, nephew, cousin or any other member of your family, was alive to see The Bears win that game, title, championship or the '85 Super Bowl, or maybe The 2006 Game, even though we lost?

There must be thousands of us out there, who are saying to themselves, will we live long enough to see them win a Super Bowl?

What are your thoughts? will we see The Chicago Bears lift this trophy, this season?
