The Great White Hope

Why can't Taylor Boggs become the next starting center for the Chicago Bears?

I love the fact that the Bears have given him an opportunity. I think he will surpise everyone on this sight that doubts this signing. I hope he surprises everyone on this sight that doubts him. Let me do my best to paint a visual for you. This guy played college ball at a high-level so he has the experience needed at the next level. In college he was the captain of an offensive line that only allowed 8 sacks in 11 games. Not only did he have an unrushed recovery but then he got an opportunity to become a stronger athlete. Full-contact can take a toll on your body in various ways. He's had plenty of time to renew his strength. Not only renew his strength but take it to another level. This kid's dream was taken from him and he now has an opportunity to make his dream a reality. Before signing with the Bears he was an instructor at an offensive lineman academy for every level of athlete. I see nothing but positives in that transition. His injury forced him off the field but his love for the game led him to become a teacher of the offensive position. Now he has the opportunity to take his growth of knowledge and couple it with his physical play. We've all had moments in our lives were we've said "if only I knew that then" Well he is now among the rare with the opportunity to make those word a reality. The Bears didn't just sign him from previous film or current youtube film they worked him out at their facility and he made an impression. Going into the 2011 NFL draft he was ranked 13th among all centers regardless of division.

Normally one would argue that Boggs put these numbers up two years ago but if Boggs were put thru the combine this year I think his numbers would actually be better.
