Does Jay Cutler have the biggest arm in the NFL?

Ronald Martinez

When it comes to cannon arms in the NFL, Chicago's Jay Cutler is right up there with the best of them, but is he the best?

The guys over at NFL.com have an Instant Debate series that poses various questions to their panel of experts. Yesterdays question was; Who has the biggest arm in the NFL?

They had six analysts weigh in on the topic, and they had six different responses. Aaron Rodgers of the Green Bay Packers, Josh Freeman of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Matt Stafford of the Detroit Lions, the New Orleans Saints' Drew Brees, the Philadelphia Eagles' Michael Vick, and the Chicago Bears' Jay Cutler.

Gregg Rosenthal is the NFL.com writer that picked Cutler, and here's what he had to say.

Cutler boasts the game's best fastball

For pure "I can throw the ball faster than you can," I'll roll with Jay Cutler. He gets extra points for throwing said fastball from strange positions, under pressure.

Back in 2010, when Jay Cutler was still a beloved Bronco, he famously declared he had a stronger arm than Denver Broncos legend John Elway. From our SBN sister site Mile High Report via the Sporting News;

— Cutler on his arm vs. John Elway’s: "I have a stronger arm than John, hands down. I’ll bet on it against anybody’s in the league. Brett Favre’s got a cannon. But on game days, there’s nobody in the league who’s going to throw it harder than I am at all."

The most interesting thing about the Mile High Report article was the poll they asked. They wanted to know if Cutler's brash comment bothered their readers, and the results were overwhelmingly with the young kid from Vanderbilt.

My how things have changed...

But back to the original NFL.com question, Who do you think has the biggest arm in the NFL? Be sure you vote in the poll, and let us know your thoughts in the comment section.

One last thing, the Cutler topic seems to bring out some heated conversation. Remember to follow our community guidelines, and don't feed the trolls.
