2013 Stats over/under: Shea McClellin

USA TODAY Sports

Ahead of the 2013 season we are setting some Las Vegas-style over/unders for Bears players and letting you decide which side their stats will end up on. Next up in second-year defensive end Shea McClellin. Be sure to leave your predictions in the comments.

Shea McClellin looks to build on his rookie campaign where he tallied only 2.5 sacks and seven tackles in 13 games with no starts. Needless to say, it shouldn't be hard for him to build on a disappointing rookie year.

However, it is vital that he improves because he was Phil Emery''s first first round pick and has been talked up because of his athleticism and speed. While showing flashes last season, McClellin was never able to put it all together for an extended period of time but he had a good camp and played pretty well last night against the Chargers.

McClellin has been competing all offseason with Corey Wootton who had a breakout year last year and by all accounts has put a stranglehold on the DE position opposite Julius Peppers.

While Wootton could still be the starter, expect to see plenty of McClellin in the rotation, as well as bumping inside as a DT in pass-rush situations (spotted last night). The Bears' 4-3 stresses having a constant rotation of defensive linemen, so even if you're not a starter you could see close to the same snaps by season's end.

So what can be expected from McClellin in year two?

Sacks: Over/under: 6.25

Tackles: Over/under: 20.5

Forced fumbles: Over/under: 2.5

Tackles for loss: Over/under: 9.5

Side bets:

Games Started

Odds he gets an interception

Odds he scores a TD
