Bears Release Jamaal Anderson

Daniel Shirey-US PRESSWIRE

The Jamaal Anderson Era has ended after just over three weeks.

When Sedrick Ellis retired at the start of training camp, the Bears signed Jamaal Anderson to shore up their defensive line. Today, the Anderson era ended before it really began (and before he could get an actual Bears' action photo in the hopper):

Anderson was more of a camp body to begin with, so this really isn't a huge loss as far as the team goes. Anderson was a former first-round pick of the Falcons signed on July 25th to a one-year deal; he was cut on July 10th from the Bengals.

This probably makes Anderson the cut player to bring quarterback Jordan Palmer on board. It also increases the likelihood Kyle Moore or Cornelius Washington can make the 53-man roster.
