When's the last time you saw a Bears' offense fire out of the gate?
The Bears' first-string offense did just that against the Raiders on Friday night. Robbie Gould started the party with a 45-yard field goal, then Matt Forte added a swing reception he took 32 yards for a touchdown. Michael Bush had two touchdowns on the night and Gould added a 53-yard field goal. The Bears would have gone into the half 27-0 had Sebastian Janikowski not kicked a 58-yard field goal in the waning moments of the half.
The Raiders' backups likewise came out firing in the second half, behind Terrelle Pryor's legs and arm, but Michael Ford put the game out of reach for good with a pair of spin moves to clear his way to the end zone.
So the Bears' established stars did their work, and they did it behind an offensive line that actually looked pretty adequate for the second game in a row, as well as the dress rehearsal game. The preseason wraps up on Thursday against the Cleveland Browns. For now, quick, victorious numbers to enjoy.
