The preseason's a team's first actual chance to get its players to play against teams that aren't their own, and occasionally, it provides enough to temper an offseason that can largely be full of unbridled optimism. Players fight for roster spots, some players impress, other players make you wonder why they're on the team, and still others become near-cult heroes (right, Mike Hass? Dane Sanzenbacher?).
This year's no different. Kyle Long and Jordan Mills have looked good, Jonathan Bostic might be able to hold down the middle linebacker spot, Isaiah Frey's earning a roster spot, and the offense started to pull things together against the Raiders and Chargers.
But, how much does this mean for the Bears? Predictions for the Bears heading into camp and the preseason varied from awful to playoffs, and hardly anybody feels like they know for sure. Even after a game like the one on Friday against the Raiders, when things look pretty good overall, expectations seem somewhat tempered.
So my poll question tonight... Do you feel like the preseason has changed your opinion of the 2013 Bears?
