Hi there! My name is Luiz Rocha. I live in Brasil and I'm a huge football fan.
I have scheduled a business trip to St. Louis the week of sept-18. When I saw that my flight from Brasil to US would pass through Chicago, I checked to see if the Bears would play either in week 2 or 3 and try to watch a game.
When I saw that week 2 would feat the Vikings at the Soldier Field, I bought tickets for the match. And decided to drag a coworker for the game as well.
Needless to say; I am really excited with this. I'm counting the days for the game.
The thing is--- I never went to a game before. And being foreigner, I'm afraid to screw this thing up, doing stupid things I'm not supposed to.
I went to dozens of soccer matches in Brasil, but its not the same, So I'd like to know things like; how early should I arrive? Can I bring beer to the stadium or it is forbidden? Which is the best way to reach the Field? Bus, subway, walking? Is there a friendly place Bears fans gather before the game? Things like that and any other stuff you guys consider relevant for an outsider visiting Soldier Field for the first time. I'd love to hear some tips!
Thank you, and sorry for my lousy english!
