Bears Vs Lions Final Score: Bears Fall to Lions, 40-32

Gregory Shamus

The Bears used a strong fourth-quarter rally to get back into the game, but five turnovers, Reggie Bush and the Lions' defense proved too much to overcome as the Lions held on, 40-32.

I don't think anybody was expecting that to happen.

The first quarter was pretty tame, as the Bears and Lions each scored a field goal to end the first tied at 3-3. Then, things went sour, quickly.

After Matt Forte took off on a 53-yard scamper to take a 10-6 lead, the Lions kicked a field goal, Matthew Stafford had a fumble forced but snagged it out of the air for a touchdown, Calvin Johnson hauled in a touchdown on a short two-yard drive set up by a Bears' turnover, and Reggie Bush drove in a 37-yard touchdown run, and the Lions were officially off and running.

The Bears offense just didn't get consistently on track, as Jay Cutler threw three interceptions and a pair of touchdowns as the game was out of reach. The Bears tried to get back into the game with a fourth-quarter rally, but it just wasn't enough.

The important thing to remember is that it's a division loss, and it hurts because it gives the Lions the lead in the NFC North with the Bears and Lions tied at 3-1, but the Bears get another chance at Soldier Field later in the year to get a win against this team.

Disappointing numbers...

Jay Cutler: 27/47, 317, 2 TD, 3 INT, Fumble - 65.6 passer rating

Matt Forte: 14 carries, 95 yards, TD
Alshon Jeffery: 5 receptions, 107 yards, TD
Brandon Marshall: 7 receptions, 79 yards

Matthew Stafford: 23/35, 242 yards, TD, INT - 83.3 passer rating

Reggie Bush: 18 carries, 139 yards, TD
Calvin Johnson: 4 receptions, 44 yards, TD
Ndamukong Suh: 2 sacks, 2 TFL

We'll have a more comprehensive look tomorrow, but until then, feel free to let us know what you think.
