The Good:

We Won!!!

The rookie right side of the offensive line played great. Extremely impressed considering who they are playing.

No sacks.

Robbie good as Gould. 58 yarder in Soldier Field no less. Amazing and he could have hit from 65.

Peanut and Jennings. Cannot say enough about how great these two are. Two picks and two forced fumbles combined.

Cutler was pretty sharp. A couple plays he wanted back i'm sure but overall solid.

I was impressed by our team discipline. At least by comparison.

The Bad:

Offensive play calling was unimpressive. Almost Ticeian. Way too conservative, especially in the first half.

2 First quarter timeouts. Did I say Ticeian?

Peanut's injury issues. Dehydration and cramps need to be taken care of.

Martellus Bennett with 2 holding penalties, unacceptable.

Complete lack of a running game. No push at all.

No pass rush. For all the talk of dominating their back up LT he shut down everyone he faced.

Unable to shutdown A.J. Green. Double him do something cannot allow 162 yards to any receiver.

The Ugly:

Our team as a whole was physically outmatched. We could not tackle, get off blocks, and we could not run block either. The Bengals were a much more physical team than us. They would have won if not for 4 stupid mistakes. The two wasted timeouts and the two unsportsmanlike like conduct penalties.

Conclusion:

We came out with the win against a tough opponent and I was overall impressed. Offensively we have to take the next step. We need consistency. Defensively we still have work to do. Though the second half was much improved after the opening drive. I do have concerns against a team like the Packers who will not shoot themselves in the foot with stupid mistakes. But overall a lot of good things. And hats off to the Bengals for being a very good opponent, just need to keep their focus.
