We unfortunately did not sign Micheal Bennett, major disappointment that we could not reel him in from Seattle. Micheal Johnson is 'ok', but should get no where near the money Griffen and Bennett got, he should sign for max $6-7 million a year, at this point Julius Peppers taking a pay cut is essential to sign either Johnson or Houston. I am amazed that the Seahawks dished out big bucks to Bennett, they have to pay Sherman and Wilson this next year, thats $25-30 million/ year ATLEAST they will take on, after giving Bennett $7.5 million a year (LESS then the Bears offered). Bears are in trouble, they can't release Peppers if they can't upgrade, Johnson and Houston aren't upgrades, but Bennett was. Phil better start making moves, last year Anderson was the worst signing, not because of salary, but because he was a veteran who was terrible and guaranteed a starting spot. MUST see a Peppers pay cut, an additional Defensive End signing, AND Melton being resigned. A corner, 1-tech and safety can be drafted( BUT Whitner is a field general and worth an investment)
Pursuing trade against peppers, so he will be a designated June 1 cut (4.5 on June 1) 9 before, meaning they can sign big name and garuntee them so they wouldn't spend a dime until September 1st, if they can't get a pick for him.
