Quarterback Position Overview:

  • Cutler will show and prove this year, and if he can stay healthy he will be Pro Bowl bound.
  • I am more than ok with Palmer taking over for McCown.
  • I hope we get an opportunity to see Johnson do something in pre-season. If he doesn't make it through this off-season on our roster than he won't be back.
  • Logan would definitely be an awesome project for us but I would like to see what this kid Brett Smith can do.
  • I think Trestman has a thing for big-handed qb's so keep that in mind.
  • Regardless of who our #2 and #3 is I have faith in whatever Trestman put's out on the field offensively.

Running back Position Overview:

  • As much as I like Ford we definitely have to bring in somebody we feel can step in if Forte gets hurt.
  • Keep your eyes on Willie Carter this off-season, his catching ability should definitely put him in line to see the ball.
  • I initially was trying to figure out why we brought in De'anthony for a visit because he isn't much of a pass catcher but his ability is hard to pass up on and I know Trest will only put him in a favorable situation. I also believe they are liking him for his returning ability.
  • The one back I would really like to see us pick up is Lorenzo Talieferro.

Wide Receiver Position Overview:

  • I look forward to seeing Marquess Wilson step into our 3rd receiver role.
  • Did yall know Josh Bellamy was drafted into the league as a corner, I wonder what his role is with us?
  • Tolliver may be making the roster this year. We are giving him one more go, and we wouldn't do that if we didn't think he could get the job done.
  • Something I think ive picked up on is the fact that we may be creating a habit of bringing in receivers with big hands.
  • The one thing I don't want to see is Eric Weems get an opportunity to return kicks or punts. He is an excellent tackler on special teams but that's his only value with this team.
  • The Bears really like Solomon Patton and he would be a nice returner to bring in to compete with Chris Williams
  • Kain Colter would be a nice receiver to have if we decide not to go big.
  • For all of you who keep begging for a speed receiver you have to take notice of the science behind the towers we employ. Jeffery, Marshall, and Wilson run 4.4's and 4.5's, do you understand how hard it is at that height to run that fast. If they were shorter they would run 4.3's easy. Do you know how easy it is for a 4.3 guy to make a small mistake and run a 4.5. To me these guys are burners with height.
  • Another thing to realize is the fact our staff loves productive 3 cone guys, our towers have some of the best 3 cone times in the league and Norwood has an impressive 3 cone time too.

Tight End Position Overview:

  • It's still a huge question mark what we will do behind Martellus.
  • I hope a year of stability for Fendi will help him grow into a productive player for us, they must be really high on him to have him still on the squad.
  • The tight end and safety position seem to be the biggest question marks going into this year. Yes I know the interior of our D-line must be addressed and our linebacker group must be determined but tight end and safety have a depth chart full of question marks.

Offensive Lineman Position Overview:

  • We are sitting so good when it comes to our offensive line group, I don't think I've seen us in this type of position in a long time, if ever.
  • Who would've thought after all our free agency moves that we would've picked up Puente. Im so hoping we are putting him in the same situation at Matt Slauson. I know someof us mentioned Puente possibly backing up the guard position too, but he hasn't played a down at guard since he's been in the league.
  • Offensive line wise I feel we are in a position to seek out hidden Gems for the next 100 years, or at least until Kromer and Trestman are broken up.
  • I definitely think Boggs is gone, but that wont be determined until they confirm Puente's ability to play in our system.
  • And for the Mills haters out there the kid will be ok.
  • I like the fact that Britton was re-signed, and regardless of whether he takes Mills position I know Britton will see the field.

Defensive Line Position Overview:

  • We went into this off-season with this position being our weakest, and now Emery has given us a formidable group to build something from.
  • We are definitely missing a DT.
  • I highly doubt we will be drafting a defensive end high fore we now have an ample amount of defensive ends.
  • I sure hope Trevor Scott can do something this off-season to earn some time on the field because his measurable on paper look impressive, him and Cornelius Washington.
  • Emery and the decision makers beat me to the punch when I noted that there was no way Cheta Ozougwa was going to be retained. His size and measurables didn't match up to what it looks like we are putting together with our defensive line group.
  • Guys like Rashede, Quarles, Tuitt, and Martin fit into our new double purpose guys I think our new defensive line will be employing but finding an absolute DT is more important than bringing in that versatile defender, so unless we have a guy that we know we are getting late than an absolute DT is what we will be drafting in one of the first three rounds.

Linebacker Position Overview:

  • As much hardship as this corps seem to face last year this group could definitely be an all-star group with the right coach, and it just so happens we have added two coaches that could definitely get the best out of these guys.
  • Franklin and the Williams kid not named D.J. are definitely on their last leg with the team. I sure hope for their sake they can produce on special teams.
  • I have a feeling we will carry less linebackers this year because I think we will be carrying more defensive lineman than normal because some of them will be considered outside linebackers. If we don't cut into this group for the final roster another group will surely be cut into.
  • Two names to keep an eye on are Jordan Senn and Tavius Boyd. Senn we have signed and Boyd I know we have shown interest in. Both of these guys are former safeties and I wonder if their role will become more than the supposed special teams player.
  • I would surely like see Shea take over in the middle. Shea has every measurable, intelligence and experience to excel at the linebacker position.
  • I think we will see productive things from this group, and yes I'm still a Bostic fan, and I fully expect after this year you will become a fan too.
  • I was not a fan at first but I could truly see Max Bullough sitting at our middle linebacker position. I have to see more from LSU's Barrow but I see potential in the kid.
  • For those of you who like C.J. Mosley I surely don't see him as a middle linebacker but more of an outside linebacker. I much rather Ryan Shazier in the middle than Mosley.

Defensive Back Position Overview:

  • I think this group is gonna be ok, but there is surely a makeover coming.
  • I don't think Tillman will last the whole year and it will be awesome to have his replacement waiting to step in and not miss a beat.
  • Guys like Hurst and Wilson will get there last opportunity to prove their worth.
  • I like the fact that we are trying to be more physical at the corner position and there will surely be a process of elimination this off-season.
  • I believe Mundy will be starting at free safety and whomever we bring in will be playing strong safety for us. But I fully expect every safety to get the opportunity to play both roles to see which is better for that individual.
  • My favorite corner has always been Kyle Fuller and it's good to see him getting his due, something I saw from day one. If Fuller is not our 14th pick then I do like the mid round guys we have listed on our supposed radar. A guy that has the tools to become the best corner out of the draft one day is Pierre Desir.
  • I guess I would be ok with Ha Ha, but I much rather Pryor or Bucannon.
  • For those of you who are Gilbert fans please stop thinking he will be a Bear, there's no physicality in any part of his game, and personally I think his backpedal needs work.
  • Also if you notice I put Jerrick McKinnon on our db list. I would much rather draft him to play tailback but from what I understand we put him through a defensive back's workout. Either way he would be a welcomed addition to this team.

Team Overview:

  • I surely expect us to do some damage offensively this year. Last year was just the beginning.
  • I know Hester is gone but our special team's savior will appear this year.
  • For those of you who wonder what our defense will be running. I think I've figured it out. We will not be running some Seahawks hybrid formation. Instead our defense will be a hybrid in itself. We will be running a 4-3, 3-4, and 3-3-5 according to the situation at hand. No I do not know this for sure but the personnel we have brought in suggest so.

Extras:

  • Eagles are really high on Bucannon
  • AD's receiving the most attention from not only the Bears but from Dallas, St. Louis, Pittsburgh, and Tampa Bay. The Bucs are really high on him.
  • Rams and Titans have shown the most interest in C.J. Mosley
  • Bronco's, Niners, and Packers were the only present during Colt Lyerla's workout.
