So I have been reading about our LBer situation for quite some time this year. I really don't understand how our beloved Bears would not want to put Shea at MLB. Now who really knows if he will get a chance at the position as its been widely discussed he will try out for the SAM slot and we have resigned DJ Williams(i dont trust his pectoral muscle injury for 16 games either). But looking at his measurables and the fact he has slimmed back down from DE size to LB size, he just reminds me so much of Urlacher in terms of size and speed. He has great speed, was a LBer in college, and just has the right size. Now the only negatives I can think of for this move is his coverage skills, does he even have any, IDK, and he never played MLB? Now who knows what kind of D we will be running other than a 4-3/hybrid of some sort but I truly think he could excel at MLB. If I had it my way I would love to see our LB core be Briggs@WILL, Shea@MLB, and Bostic@SAM. With this LBer core I think our LBer Blitz packages could be massively disruptive, sending Bostic and or Shea on 3rd n longs where opposing offenses would most likely be doubling Allen for mass protect. If we get Donald in the draft our d on the right side would be very hard to contain on passing downs. I'm no expert but this just seems like a massive win win for the future if it were to pan out. Shea was an OLB in college if I'm not mistaken so I can see how Emery and Tucker would want to try him there first before we try him at a different position and risk finally labeling him a BUST. Whats WCG's opinion on this?
