Top-flight rugby players have received six-month bans for one-off incidents such as shoving a referee after a loss, and for drunkenly trashing a trophy on a night out. Luis Suarez, whose ugly history includes an eight-match ban for racially abusing another player, is out four months for biting an opponent for the third (possibly fourth) time.

Cutler relishes bond with Marshall - Larry Mayer: Entering their sixth season together as teammates, Jay Cutler was thrilled to hear about the contract extension that Brandon Marshall signed with the Bears in May.
