Come write for WCG!

Scott Sewell-USA TODAY Sports

Windy City Gridiron has been around for many years, and has always and forever been considered the largest, and best, Chicago Bears community on the internet. Our content has been discussed by major networks, coaches, and players alike, and is front and center when it comes to Navy and Orange discussions.

With that said, as we continue to expand, we are looking to add a few new staffers to our ranks.

Passionate about the Bears and WCG, and want to contribute? Good, keep reading:

We are looking to add each of the following:

- The Bears Den writer. Our dear friend and WCG veteran Spongie is retiring from his post, and is leaving big shoes to fill. Spongie was the 4th daily links writer that WCG has had, and did it better than anyone else in the SBN network. We are looking for someone to take over and be able to continue his legacy.

What are we looking for? Someone who can cover Monday- Friday shifts for The Bears Den. The Den must be compiled and posted by 9am ET every morning, so an early bird will be needed. This is a HUGE commitment, but by far The Bears Den is our most highly-trafficked posts each day.

- A moderator. We've got a few staffers with Mod privileges, but we need a daily, dedicated moderator.

What are we looking for? Someone who has established themselves as a calm presence in our comments sections, who has a great rapport with our members and has proven to be level-headed and logical. We don't need a 'sheriff' to come in and start banning people and being an authority figure, but rather someone to be a calming presence and ensure our Community Guidelines are being followed.

- A weekend contributor. We don't have bankers hours, and don't take weekends off. We need a weekend warrior that can crank out at least two articles per day on Saturday and two on Sunday. This can include both editorial pieces, as well as news-related items.

- Fantasy Football writer. Brendan Hess held down that post for a while, but the last couple seasons we haven't had much of a FF presence. We will be changing that, and need a writer that can add two posts per week to our front page.

What are we looking for? Someone who has a proven-record (yes we will be checking) of being a Fantasy Football superstar, and has a deep understanding of the different types of leagues and scoring systems. Oh, and someone who can write well.

- General football contributor. If you've got a flair for the dramatic, or are looking for a place to write your thoughts, then we has two slots per week up for grabs. You must be well-written, and able to generate intelligent discussions within our community. Almost complete creative freedom, but the two posts per week is a must.

If you're interested in volunteering your time to the Best Damned Chicago Bears Website on the internet, then email me directly (contact.wcg at gmail). They're are all unpaid positions, but absolutely create content that is read worldwide, including within the confines of Halas Hall.

Let's do it!
