2012 WCG Awards: Chicago Bears Most Improved Player of the Year

The awards don't stop. While TJ is trying to nail down the best Bear (which should be an excellent series, although I am disappointed Kuma didn't get in there), we're continuing to hand out the actual Chicago Bears' end-of-season awards. Last week we handed out the Rookie. Wednesday we handed out the Newcomer of the Year, and tonight we're going to move to the Most Improved Player of the Year - last year's Bears that might have had a down year yet rose to the occasion this season. Want more? Hit the jump to see how we voted...

The first matchup, Staley vs Grizz, is here. So who do you pick this time - the #1 seeded icon who loves him some huny or the #8 old school television star?

What will the Bears' offense look like in '12?

Hahaha, no really Jay, I know what a forward pass is! I also know when to stop calling seven-step drops.

This week has brought some closure to the coaching staff searches but also raised a lot of questions; why Jeremy Bates after he was at first eliminated before the search began? And why didn't he get the passing game coordinator title? Then even more questions were raised, like can Mike Tice even call passing plays? Does Tice even know what a pass looks like? Is he qualified for the position he has?

Well I am here to look at some of these questions and see if I can draw some conclusions about what the offense will look like and how, in fact, the Bears' offensive staff will develop and call plays.

Are the Chicago Bears the trendy pick for 2012?

Photo

Every year there's that one team that the experts seem to get behind. Some call it the trendy pick others call it the sexy pick, I prefer 'sexy', because it's, well... sexy. In 2012 the Chicago Bears may be that team. Comcast writer John "Moon" Mullin believes the Bears can bounce back to the playoffs after their 8-8 season, then again his could be considered a homer pick seeing as how he covers the Bears. But in his article he actually references an NFL.com piece that mentions the Bears.

Febearary Fever Tournament is Set - Start voting now!

Perhaps you've heard of me. I'm kind of a big deal.

After much deliberation, sleepless nights, and the occasional personal attack, the field for the Febearary Fever Tournament is set. The entire field with matchups is listed after the jump, so feel free to question the seedings or inclusion/exclusion of the tournament participants. We did end up adding "Little Bear" from author Maurice Sendak, Bart the (literal) Bear, Banjo from Banjo Kazooie, and Pedo Bear (everyone thank Kev). Hit the comments section up to tell us who you think will win or if any dark horses could emerge victorious. The first matchup is posted as well, with a frontrunner looking to move on.

The Bears Den: February 10, 2012

"...where we're potentially combustible."

Bates should be big boost for Cutler Bowen: Position coach key to quarterback's success and their previous relationship bodes well for the future and the playbook.

Garza, Melton land on "All-Joe" team Mayer: Bears center Roberto Garza and defensive lineman Henry Melton were recently selected to USA Today's 20th annual "All-Joe" team.

Bears, Giants are close, but there is some separation If the Green Bay Packers and New York Giants are the last two Super Bowl champions, how far away can the Bears be? Mark Potash has the dope.

Looking to replace your Lamborghini? In the market for a car as ridiculous as Devin Hester's? Want a Neckbeard-approved hybrid? Better yet, want to meet Earl Bennett, DJ Moore, Anthony Adams, Adam Podlesh? WCG was lucky enough to get a sneak peak at the 2012 Chicago Auto Show earlier today, and you can take a peek at the schedule and - yes - look at some cars below the fold. Vroom!
