WCG Writers' League Championship Week

Provided you run any semblance of a normal fantasy football league, this week marks the final week of the fantasy season, where championships are won or lost, and people get bragging rights to last a year. The Windy City Gridiron Writers' League is no different - lots of surprises, some crazy moves, and a lot of fun.

The matchups for this week are...

Championship Game
1) TJ Shouse - Drunken Polar Bears vs 2) Mallomania - Purple Cobras

3rd Place Game
4) Steven Schweickert - Punters for MVP vs 6) Just Dave - MobyDickInAFishBowl

7th Place Game
7) Brendan Hess - Wildcards vs 8) Kev H - Cuddly Babystealers

9th Place Game
10) Adam T - Hire Denny Green vs 9) Sam Householder - Super Bowl Shufflers

Awards and other assorted craziness after the jump.

Fantasy Football - Bad Beat Edition

If Craig Steltz was a real football player, something good wouldn't have happened for the Chiefs here. Oh, and I hate Dexter McCluster. Oh, and Corey Graham, great help.

First of all - the Forte injury rocked me (and not in the good way). I first heard of it thanks to a friend's text since I didn't get the Bears-Chiefs game (which in retrospect was a good thing, stupid Keanu Palko), and I've avoided spending too much time reading or writing about it because of how angry I get. Frankly, I'm treating it like an argument with my wife; if I avoid discussing it, it'll just fade away into the ether and be forgotten, regardless of how nonsensical or unhelpful that is .

So, since we've been a bit light in the fantasy football world around here, I'll be dedicating the comment section to any and all complaints about how your fantasy season has gone thus far.

Fantasy Football Q&A

Photo

It's that time again!  Fantasy Footballers drop your questions in the comment thread and one or more of the fine Windy City Gridiron members will do their best to answer your query.  This week all 32 teams will be in action (no byes) and how about that sweet game yesterday on Thursday Night Football between the Chargers and the Raiders.  The Bears will play both those teams in the coming weeks.

Here's my scorching hot fantasy tip of the week.  Play the Rams Steven Jackson if you got him!  He's been on a roll lately and he's facing a bad Browns run D.  This fantasy stuff is easy...

Here's a tidbit from me.  Pick up Tim Tebow, but don't start him this week, the Broncos are on a bye.  Genius!

Fantasy Football Q&A and an Open Topic Open Thread

"If you're going to wait 12 years after somebody's passed, come on. This is the sign of a gutless individual who would do this. Totally gutless who would hide behind that, and that's what he's done."

Hopefully this thread can fill two needs for everyone; a) provide a place to throw out some fantasy football questions to the knowledgeable Windy City Gridiron members, and b) provide a late night goto in case you just want to vent on some Bears related news.  And by 'vent' I of course mean type in foul language.

It's been a trying week for Bears fans.  A Packer loss and then the news about the Walter Payton book.

Remember to open thread responsibly.
