Mocking the Mocks: Who they think the Chicago Bears will take
This time out we'll double dip and take a look at what CBSSports.com has to say about the Chicago Bears 19th pick in the NFL draft. They have two mock drafters making picks and even though both believe the Bears will go with a wide out, both believe it will be a different wide out. First up if the Mock by their NFLDraftScout.com analyst Dane Brugler.
And with the 19th pick in this CBSSports mock draft, the Chicago Bears select Kendall Wright, WR, Baylor...
Mocking the Mocks: Who they think the Chicago Bears will take
The last time we looked at a mock draft they had the Chicago Bears taking Notre Dame wide receiver Michael Floyd with the 19th pick. This time out we'll stay close to home and look at a draft from the mother-ship, SBNation. With the 19th selection of the SBNation Mock draft (Jan, 23rd version) the Chicago Bears select Michael Floyd, wide receiver, Notre Dame...
Bears GM Candidates: the Draft Value System Revisited
Last week, I set out to create an objective way to measure the draft success of the Bears' GM candidates. Thanks to the helpful feedback from WCGers, I have made some refinements to my system: the numbers now make a lot more sense than they did the last time around. For your consideration, here is an updated version of the WCG-exclusive Draft Value system, once again complete with charts!
Could the Bears Receive a Compensatory Draft Pick?
This post has been spawned out of some comments on my Friday post made by Just Dave who was wondering if the Bears could be in line for some compensatory picks to add to the team's existing arsenal of picks. Now, compensatory picks are awarded on based on a formula created by the NFL Management Council and it is somewhat complex. This is typically one of the more complicated matters in the NFL every year and it seems no one, even after reading up on the darn rules, can really figure out just how these picks are awarded. So I will attempt to break it down in a somewhat simple manner, even though I am not entirely sure I understand it all. Then I will figure out if the Bears can expect a pick or not.
Bears GM Candidates by the Numbers
Last week, I started out my article by bemoaning the complete lack of statistics to measure GM performance. This whine, however, was followed by an article almost completely lacking in any numbers of its own. To remedy this situation, I have spent the last couple of days converting the draft performances of seven different potential GMs (and one Mr. Jerry Angelo) into my very own GM measurement statistic: the Draft Value Rating System. Follow me below the fold to get the full breakdown of how the many potential GMs did in their drafts from 2001-2007, complete with charts!

Mocking the Mocks: Who they think the Chicago Bears will take
It's that time of year again, the off season. And although the Bears off season came much quicker than many of us had thought, the next few months will bring a renewed hope as we look towards the 2012 season. Hopefully the injured Bears will all bounce back. Hopefully the new GM will attack free agency and fill needs with good players. And hopefully the new GM will draft the Bears some offensive talent for a change. In this ongoing series we'll take a peek at mock drafts from all around to see how they have the Bears spending their 19th pick in the draft...
...and with the 19th pick in the Sports Illustrated Mock Draft, the Chicago Bears select Michael Floyd, WR, Notre Dame...
CBSSports Grades the Chicago Bears 2011 Draft
One of my go to sites for NFL draft info is CBSSports.com, they provide good and thorough content on the prospects through NFLDraftScout.com. They also keep the analysis going after the draft, and have graded each pick that was made individually. And since we can never have enough draft talk, after the jump we'll look at their Chicago Bears grades with my comments in italics.
Finally! My Bears Draft Analysis! Sorta.....
Well ladies and gents, here we are once again. Not much is happening in the world of football and slightly less is happening on the Bears. Jay’s gonna get hitched, we may have a new punter, we'd all like Olin back but.... yadda, yadda, yadda. What I wouldn’t give for a big free agent acquisition or a monster trade in the NFL. A major signing or a surprising player released. On any team in the NFL. Anything? The lawyers are mumbling something about concessions and mediation and then we cue the crickets.... My 10 favorite things about the Bears draft after the jump.
