Comcast Survey

As a valued partner of SB Nation and this site, Comcast is once again looking for your opinion. As Comcast continues its sponsorship of this blog during the 2010 football season, the primary objective of the sponsorship remains engaging with knowledgeable and passionate football fans in key Comcast markets.

The feedback from your community has been extremely valuable. As we’re at the halfway mark of the NFL season, we would like to ask you a few questions so that we can gauge how we are doing.  The process should take only a minute or two.  Thank you for your time and consideration!

Who's the left tackle? A look at the Chicago Bears OL situation.

One game.  Actually a little less than one game.  That's all we've seen of Frank Omiyale at left tackle and already some Bears fans are ready to anoint him the answer at that position.  Chris Williams graded out pretty well the last few games on the left side in 2009, but so far through this years preseason, week one against the Lions, and the start of the Cowboys game, Chris Williams looks lost.

Omiyale will no doubt get a few more games at left tackle as Williams rests his hamstring.  But once Williams is able to practice, where will he go?  Back to his job on the left side, will a flip to the right side be best, or what about a move inside to guard?  One thing that the Dallas game taught me is that offensive line coach Mike Tice isn't afraid to pull the trigger on a move.

Taking a Look in the Bears History Book: Kevin Butler

Photo

Today's TLBHB player is from a more recent era than most of the players I take a look at. However, you guys choose 'em, and I'll write about 'em! This fellow is well-known and adored around WCG, but a helmet tip to gwl17 for choosing this well-remembered player with a seemingly childish nickname.

Yet Another WCG Milestone: 3 Million Visits!

Sometime a few hours ago, Windy City Gridiron hit yet another milestone: 3 million total website visits!  It took a few years to reach the 1 million mark, and then reached 2 million about a year later.  Now, it only took a few months to get to 3 million.

Why is this happening so fast?  Two reasons: our members, and our writers.  More specifically, the culture of WCG has significantly changed in the last couple of years, and changed for the good.  We saw a huge upswing in membership about 18 months ago, and it took several months to get everything under control.  The biggest factor in being able to control the chaos was all of you.

Windy City Gridiron has established itself as the premier website on the internet to intelligently discuss Chicago Bears football.  There really is no real competitor.  Our members here are typically more mature, more intelligent, and more courteous than other blogs and open forum-type websites.  And a very, very big thank you to our members for establishing that culture.

NFL thoughts you can take to the bank.

I wish I could challenge Lovies challenges.

No, these aren't predictions, as the very definition of prediction leaves something to chance.  These are some stone cold, hard as nails, might as well chisel it in granite facts.  If I were a betting man, I'd call my bookie, and work on him in getting some of these played as prop bets.

This being Windy City Gridiron, most of my thoughts will have a Bears slant, but as I consider myself to be knowledgeable in all things NFL, I'll touch on some other teams as well.  Now jump I say!!!
