WCG Mock Draft

BigBlueShoe is back and this time drafting for Philly.

#14 Philadelphia Eagles: Chad Jackson, WR, Florida

With Terrell Owens gone, the Eagles once again find themselves in need of an impact receiver. Philadelphia is not known for drafting wide receivers, but in this they will make an exception. Jackson is the best receiver in the draft. He has sure hands, runs good routes, and has good size. He will fit perfectly into Philly's short pass offense.

Atlanta is on the clock...

I don't think that Atlanta is on the clock...
According to Sportsline.com, Denver is next and Atlanta doesn't have a 1st rounder.  But that could be wrong.

I just checked NFL.com
And Atlanta traded their pick to Denver.  I have no memory of this or who they traded it for.

I would but...
If I were Denver,  I would trade down.  It seems to me that they need a better WR and with Chad Jackson going off the board, I would trade down and take a lower rate WR.  I am not a big believer in drafting the same position as the one RIGHT before you.

Denver Broncos
select DeAngelo Williams

This is an easy choice for the Broncos.  Williams' speed and vision make him ideal for Mike Shanahans blocking scheme.  The Broncos haven't had this kind of natural cut-back ability in one of their backs since Terrell Davis.

Miami
takes

Marcus McNeil, T, Auburn: They now have a great young RB and a brand new Pro Bowl QB.  Better protect them and he's the best OL left on the board.

cool
I will get those two picks up tomorrow.  I also have Minnesota already in.  Grizz will be handling Dallas.  That leaves San Diego as the next available pick.
