VIKINGS Beat BEARS 34-31
OUCH!
That really is all I am feeling right now. Adrian Peterson literally ran all over the Bears. But despite his 224 yards and 3 TDs, the Bears were in this game that is until of course Peterson did it to us again just on a kick off return that put Minnesota in range for a game winning field goal.
The offense saw there best game output wise. Griese has 381 and 3TDs to go along with 2 INTs.
Hester accounted for 2 of the Bears TDs. One on a 89 yard punt return, the other on an 81 yard reception.
Benson started off well, but finished with only 67 yards.
We have talked a lot about what the Bears issues were including tackling, but today it was horrible. We knew the only person on this team who could beat us was Peterson and we let him beat us. Badly.
We will look at more numbers later, right now I am in an ugly mood.

patheitc
maybe griese is checking down becasue nothing is there, you'd have to see some film to know but both quarterbacks have done it a lot. our receiver aren't exactly world beaters either.

I would be very
Defenses have taken away our wideouts, that's why everything is check down or to the TE. If it wasn't wet early in the game yesterday, I think the game would have been completely different. Our O-line sucks and didn't take advantage of it as much as they should have. The rain helps a running offense and hurts a passing offense. Which is why throwing the ball twice as often (again!) as you run it was a stupid idea, especially after we went down 21-14 and they threw it 5 straight times.
And there was a pass to Moose early(ish) in the game where Moose still should have caught the ball. Griese was obviously expecting Moose to be on the inside, even though the announcer said "you need to put more air under that ball". No, bullshit, the receiver should be able to adjust to the ball, that's his job. If it is throw on the inside he should position his body on the inside. That way, if he catches the ball, the corner is off-balance towards the outside and he has a chance to take it the distance, especially since it was single coverage. I really think Moose has sucked this whole season. His TD catch was great and all, but that was an EASY play, the throw down the middle is always the most impressive thing since it has to be perfect or else the receiver's momentum is wasted and he doesn't make it to the end zone. That's honestly the first time I remember them even running that route with a receiver and not a TE. The TE ends up in a different spot in their zone (and slower) so if you throw the ball, it has a chance of getting picked off.

Our cracker-jack run D
And right before Mushin's TD, Griese had another pick right into a Vikings DB's hand.

How did I enlighten you?
The four turnovers sucked, that's for sure (although one was meaningless). But this game was lost mostly by the defense. The offense wasn't as good as Dallas or New England, but 31 points should be more than enough to win a game.

Ew...
3 minutes of luck does not make a "swell" offensive performance.
Benson did run a little better today.
He also can't catch a pass.
The Vikings coaches are morons, otherwise Griese throws for about 250 yards with a TD and 2 INT. He made bad decisions and bad throws pretty much all day. It was nice they took advantage at the end, it made the game interesting but it's apparently confusing you into thinking that it was good offensive effort.

ONE guy had over 200 yards rushing today. this defense sucks.

arrived home from the game...
- the entire defense laid a big fat turd on the turf today. a couple of players made a couple of plays, but that just won't get a club to the playoffs/division title. no way on god's green earth this club is a wild card.
- adrian peterson is going to be a pain in the bears' assses twice a year for a long time. he is what cedric should be. in only his 6th friggin game as a pro. given a choice between peterson and hester, i probably take peterson because he can be on the field more, with more touches. given a third choice, i would take them both. too bad for me; that ain't gonna happen.
- would you use your left shoe to kick ron turner in the ass and your right shoe to kick babich in the ass? or vice versa? with perhaps 5 exceptions, today's offensive play calling was not up to par. and it took an entire half to pull archuleta, and replace him with mc bride. i think the most infuriating play was the 1st half touchdown pass; 2 safeties to cover a wideout?
- i cannot recall a single blitz. and nearly zero pressure on what is virtually a rookie quarterback. pathetic. looks like this season will be finished before the bye week (if it is not already).

Initially I thought it was
In McKie's defense, that was his first carry of the season! Why is that? Probably because Ron Turner is the most predictable play caller in the league. Last season McKie had 3 rushes in game one of the season. Then 1 carry in 5 other games. That's 8 carries for the season. That's fucking bullshit. How do you expect to run the ball effectively when you don't ever switch things up? You should have at least 30-35 carries by your FB in a season. Probably more if you consider yourself a running team.
And once again, 45 pass attempts vs. 21 runs this game. Flippin' stupid. When we went down 21-14 there was no reason to throw 5 straight passes. Unless they were going to go deep.

Brad Childress
And how do you let Hester get behind you there? I don't care if he runs a triple move, you stand 40 yards off the ball.
We should have lost 50 - 10.
